Technical Purchaser
This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of assigned vessels by managing procurement and logistics processes. The position plays a key part in maintaining vessel performance, supporting superintendents, and safeguarding safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle purchase requests from vessels, sending RFQs and obtaining quotations.
- Evaluate prices in the purchasing system and seek approvals.
- Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, and vessels.
- Manage invoices, resolve discrepancies, and liaise with accounts.
- Support day-to-day vessel operations and dry-docking activities.
- Ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of ship spares and stores worldwide.
- Maintain compliance with company regulations and industry best practices.
- Graduate, preferably in mechanical engineering.
- 4–5 years of experience in maritime purchasing and global logistics.
- Strong skills in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
- Ability to work independently with a strategic mindset.
- Effective stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
