Faststream are exclusively seeking an experienced Technical Director to oversee the technical operations of our client's fleet of 25+ vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engineering and extensive experience managing a large technical team of 10+.
 
The Technical Director will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the whole fleet of vessels, and will be a key member of the senior management team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the technical operations of our fleet of 20+ vessels, including maintenance, repair, and dry-docking activities
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure that vessels meet regulatory requirements and operate safely and efficiently
  • Manage a team of technical professionals, including engineers, technicians, and administrative staff
  • Monitor vessel performance and identify opportunities for improvement, including cost reduction initiatives
  • Develop and manage budgets for technical operations and ensure that expenses are within budgetary guidelines
  • Maintain close relationships with owners, charterers, and other stakeholders to ensure that their technical requirements are met
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including those related to safety, security, and the environment
  • Provide technical guidance to the senior management team on matters related to vessel design, construction, and operation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and service providers
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing technical operations for a fleet of 20+ vessels
  • Extensive experience managing a large technical team of 10+
  • In-depth knowledge of marine engineering and vessel operations, including regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
