The Technical Director will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the whole fleet of vessels, and will be a key member of the senior management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the technical operations of our fleet of 20+ vessels, including maintenance, repair, and dry-docking activities
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure that vessels meet regulatory requirements and operate safely and efficiently
- Manage a team of technical professionals, including engineers, technicians, and administrative staff
- Monitor vessel performance and identify opportunities for improvement, including cost reduction initiatives
- Develop and manage budgets for technical operations and ensure that expenses are within budgetary guidelines
- Maintain close relationships with owners, charterers, and other stakeholders to ensure that their technical requirements are met
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including those related to safety, security, and the environment
- Provide technical guidance to the senior management team on matters related to vessel design, construction, and operation
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and service providers
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing technical operations for a fleet of 20+ vessels
- Extensive experience managing a large technical team of 10+
- In-depth knowledge of marine engineering and vessel operations, including regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
