Leading International Ship Brokerage (Headquartered in Geneva)

About the Company:

Well-established and internationally recognized ship brokerage firm, with headquarters in Geneva and a specialized focus on the tanker market. As part of their strategic growth in Asia, they are looking to strengthen their operational team by hiring a dedicated and experienced Tanker Operator to join the Singapore office.

Role Overview:

As a Tanker Operator, you will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating post-fixture activities for our tanker operations. You’ll be the key liaison between ship owners, charterers, and brokers, ensuring voyages are executed smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. Preference will be given to candidates with chemical tanker experience. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of post-fixture operations for tanker voyages
  • Monitor voyage progress and ensure compliance with charter party terms
  • Communicate proactively with clients, brokers, agents, and counterparties
  • Handle voyage instructions, documentation, laytime calculations, and claims
  • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure optimal performance and service delivery
  • Solve operational issues promptly and professionally, offering practical solutions
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for operational activities

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in tanker operations within the shipping or shipbroking industry
  • Specialized knowledge of chemical tankers is strongly preferred, particularly in the transportation of vegetable oils, base oils, and biofuels
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese (spoken and written) is a must to effectively communicate with international partners and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-driven approach to operational challenges
  • Proven capability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage professionally across all levels of the business
