Structural Design Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering design consultancy as Structural Design Engineer. Faststream have been selected to support them in recruiting market leading talent to join their team in Southampton.

The Position
As Structural Design Engineer you will be providing skilled design work for assigned projects whilst meeting the relevant technical requirements. As part of the company's investment in R&D and continuous improvement you will also be responsible for developing new ideas and designs as well as new ways of working. This is specifically focusing on the engineering of Yachts.

Essential Criteria

Relevant experience in the marine industry
Ability to process technical problems
Self-motivation and time management to meet targets
Ability to produce clear and well-presented drawings

Desirable Criteria

2D CAD (AutoCAD)
2D/3D CAD (Rhino and NAPA Steel)
Knowledge and understanding of statutory regulations and Classification and Flag rule sets
Knowledge and understanding of ship systems design
Knowledge and understanding of ship structural design
