Calling all 2nd / 3rd Engineers!

Join the Decarbonisation Mission – Marine Service & Commissioning Technician | Shore-Based (UK Travel & Overseas Deployment)
Location: Manchester preferred however, UK-based and near a local airport would be required.
Travel: Global, project-based (mainly gas carriers or other vessels mainly dealing with dual fuel engines)

The Role -
A UK-based maritime technology company, part of a larger global group focused on digitalisation and sustainability in shipping, is expanding its engineering team. As demand grows for shipboard emissions monitoring and reporting, this business supplies advanced exhaust measurement systems to major shipowners and shipyards worldwide.
We’re now looking to hire a Marine Service & Commissioning Technician – ideally a 2nd or 3rd Engineer stepping ashore.

The Responsibilities -
  • Service, repair, and commission exhaust emissions monitoring systems on ocean-going vessels
  • Support third-party installation teams during shipyard or retrofit projects
  • Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting to vessel crew
  • Travel to vessels globally (typically 3 days to 1-week deployments)
  • Liaise directly with ship staff, port agents, and service coordinators
  • Handle admin duties including service reports, expense filing, method statements, and internal system updates
The Person - 
  • Background as a 2nd or 3rd Engineer or ETO, preferably with exposure to dual-fuel engines
  • Skilled across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Familiarity with PLC/PC-based systems (training provided)
  • Strong communicator with confidence to work independently on board
  • UK-based – ideally in the North West or within 1 hour of a UK airport
  • Full UK living and working rights
