Job Description

The Company:
My client is pioneering tidal energy solutions that can compete on cost with traditional renewables. Their tidal platform and turbines are proven in deployment and operational trials. They are now preparing for multi-megawatt deployment across strategic sites, with a 460MW project pipeline in the UK alone and global expansion opportunities.

The Role:
They're seeking a highly experienced Systems Integration Engineer to lead the end-to-end integration of complex marine energy systems - from quayside commissioning to offshore deployment. This senior, hands-on role is crucial to ensuring the performance, reliability, and maintainability of their platforms and turbines, and will directly shape the success of flagship projects.

Key Responsibilities-
  • Lead integration of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems for tidal platforms and turbines.
  • Oversee quayside system assembly, testing, and commissioning.
  • Manage and validate integration of SCADA, environmental monitoring, and platform management systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex multi-disciplinary issues during offshore installation and operation.
  • Interface with supply chain, fabrication yards, and specialist contractors to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Feed operational learnings into design improvements to drive down LCOE and enhance system availability.
  • Represent the company in technical forums, joint industry projects, and client-facing engineering reviews.
The Person:
  • 7+ years' engineering experience with proven system-level integration expertise (marine, offshore renewables, or similar).
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, or Systems Engineering (postgraduate preferred).
  • Demonstrable leadership in multi-disciplinary projects from design through to offshore commissioning.
  • Strong technical background in hydraulic systems, electrical power systems, and control software integration.
  • Proficient with engineering tools (MatLab, LabVIEW) and coding languages (Python, C++).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under operational and delivery pressures.
Desirable-
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards professional registration.
  • Offshore/subsea structural design experience.
  • Experience with "plug-and-play" modular integration approaches in marine environments.
