Job Description

Faststream are working with a major subsea energy business to add a Senior Structural Engineer to their team. The successful candidate will be focusing on the structural integrity and operational effectiveness of the client's specialised vessels and subsea equipment.

The client are open to both contractors or candidates looking for staff roles. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead structural design and analysis for various subsea equipment deployed from client vessels, including production systems, lifting tools, and ROVs.
  • Perform complex structural calculations using industry-standard software packages.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including calculations, drawings, and reports.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with naval architects and other engineers to ensure smooth equipment integration with the client's vessels.
  • Conduct and review finite element analysis (FEA) models to assess structural behaviour under diverse operating conditions, including fatigue and extreme loads.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to evaluate equipment condition and identify potential issues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new design standards and procedures for subsea equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related field
  • Strong experience in structural engineering within the marine or offshore energy environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of industry-standard structural analysis software such as AutoCAD, MathCAD, STAAD Pro / FS2000 / ANSYS or similar software
