A global leader in LNG transportation is looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its In-house legal team. This is a strategic role offering exposure to complex international shipping, commercial, and regulatory matters across the organisation and its joint ventures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on a wide range of legal matters, including charterparty agreements, shipbuilding contracts, joint ventures, and compliance
- Draft and negotiate high-value contracts across LNG and LPG shipping, vessel construction, and project development
- Support dispute resolution, claims, and litigation related to shipping operations and international transactions
- Provide legal oversight on new vessel deliveries, registration, and related corporate structuring
- Work with external counsel on financing, regulatory issues, and international arbitration
- Support board and governance activities and contribute to internal legal frameworks and budget planning
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with a law degree; LLM in Maritime Law or equivalent preferred
- 10+ years of legal experience in the shipping industry, with at least 5 years in a senior-level or similar role
- Strong experience in commercial and corporate maritime law, particularly in LNG or LPG sectors
- Skilled in contract negotiation, legal risk management, and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders in complex legal environments
