As Senior Crew Manager / Deputy Head of Crewing, you will play a pivotal role in managing and developing crewing operations. Acting as the right hand to the Head of Department, you’ll provide both strategic and operational leadership, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while driving continuous improvement across the department.
Your Responsibilities – Leadership with Impact
- Operational leadership: Manage and mentor the Crewing Operations team, providing direct professional guidance to three team leaders.
- Client management: Oversee and strengthen relationships with key accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Fleet management: Take full crewing responsibility for approximately 10 vessels, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence.
- Strategic partnership: Support and collaborate closely with the Head of Department, acting as their trusted deputy and sparring partner.
- Process optimization: Champion quality assurance, standardization, and the continuous development of internal workflows.
- Crisis management: Maintain composure and deliver pragmatic, solution-oriented responses in challenging or time-critical situations.
- 8–10 years of professional experience in crew management, ideally supported by a solid maritime background.
- Initial leadership experience (team or project level) is an advantage.
- Strong empathy and communication skills when engaging with clients and seafarers alike.
- Proven ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Entrepreneurial, solution-oriented mindset with a proactive and structured approach to work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, clear communication style, and a supportive attitude.
- Seafaring experience is a strong plus.
