The Role
You will:
- Lead the crewing and fleet administration teams, overseeing full-cycle crew management including recruitment, deployment, appraisal, discipline, and welfare of seafarers.
- Ensure strict compliance with international and local maritime codes and regulations (MLC 2006, STCW, ISM, flag and port state requirements).
- Manage Seafarer Employment Agreements (SEAs), payroll, allotments, and leave rotations with accuracy and timeliness.
- Liaise closely with ship masters, internal stakeholders, and external authorities to maintain optimal manning levels and certification compliance.
- Take ownership of crewing budgets, cost optimisation, and crew-related expenses.
- Conduct regular audits and process reviews to drive continuous improvement and best practices.
- Champion workforce engagement, morale, and branding initiatives to foster a safe, resilient, and productive fleet culture.
- Support digitalisation and technology-enabled enhancements in crewing and fleet support operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in crewing, including at least 4 years in a managerial/team leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Sound planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, particularly under pressure.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills to develop talent and drive performance.
