What You Can Expect As a Reliability Engineer, you will be part of the Reliability and Maintenance Team, responsible for driving asset management strategies and continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet.
Your mission is to ensure long‑term asset performance and availability through risk‑based maintenance, data‑driven decision‑making, and structured analysis. You will lead technical investigations, extract key learnings, and translate them into actionable improvements that strengthen operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into technical defects and incidents, ensuring effective preventive actions are implemented
- Manage and facilitate FMECA and other risk‑based maintenance analyses
- Monitor the effectiveness of preventive measures and verify that improvements deliver the expected results
- Advise on emerging technologies and best practices in reliability engineering
- A completed Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Technology, Naval Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working onboard ships, at least at the rank of 2nd Engineer (experience on gas tankers is preferred)
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken
- Training in incident investigation methodologies (e.g., TOP-SET or similar)
- Familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse groups
- A proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous learning
- Willingness to travel occasionally to vessels worldwide when required
