Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety and environmental assessments of the company's vessels to ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to the company's vessel crew and shore-based personnel to maintain a strong safety and environmental culture.
- Develop and implement safety and environmental policies and procedures in line with best practices and industry standards.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including customers, port authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor safety and environmental performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide training and support to the company's employees to ensure a strong safety and environmental culture.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as maritime studies, engineering, or environmental science.
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar role within the bulk shipping industry.
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience in conducting safety and environmental assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as required.
