Work with an international shipping organisation recognised for delivering complex, heavy-lift cargoes safely around the world. This is a hands-on opportunity to apply engineering expertise to real-world maritime challenges, designing solutions that ensure major industrial cargoes move safely and efficiently across oceans.
You will be responsible for developing engineering plans and calculations for the safe stowage, lifting, and securing of project and heavy cargoes across a global fleet. This includes responding to cargo handling enquiries, preparing detailed lifting and sea-fastening plans using CAD and FEM tools, conducting structural assessments, advising commercial teams, and supporting vessel and port operations. You will also contribute to continuous improvement of internal cargo handling procedures and provide guidance to operations staff during cargo operations.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering
- Relevant experience in marine, ship, or offshore structural design or project cargo engineering
- Proficiency in FEM/structural analysis tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Ansys Mechanical, Femap) and AutoCAD or similar stowage applications
- Knowledge of IMO and classification society codes (CSS, IMDG) relevant to cargo handling and securing
