Faststream are working with a major EPC to add a Principal Instrumentation Designer to their team to work on a large battery gigafactory project. Permanent staff and 12 month PAYE contract opportunities available. The role will be on a hybrid basis out of London.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead the instrumentation design team on projects, providing technical guidance and mentoring to team members
  • Ensure that designs meet project requirements, standards, and specifications
  • Review and approve instrumentation design deliverables, including drawings, calculations, and specifications
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Prepare and review project scopes, schedules, and budgets for instrumentation design activities
  • Develop and maintain instrumentation design standards and procedures
  • Participate in design reviews and risk assessments
  • Provide technical support to procurement, construction, and commissioning teams during project execution
  • Manage change requests and variations to the instrumentation design scope
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, codes, and standards
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline
  • Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation design, including control systems, safety systems, and fire and gas detection systems
  • Experience in leading a team of instrumentation designers
  • Proficient in using design software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Experience in EPC projects is highly desirable
