Faststream is partnering with an international shipping company with a diversified fleet to seek a Marine Superintendent (Training and Compliance) to join their team in Singapore.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational performance across company-managed vessels, with a particular focus on oil tanker operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for deck and engine departments.
  • Conduct on-the-job training to enhance crew competency, particularly in oil tanker operations and safety best practices.
  • Perform compliance audits (ISM, ISPS, MLC) and drive corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain detailed training and audit records; prepare management reports.
  • Continuously assess and enhance safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate and mentor crew members to support career progression and fleet performance improvement.
  • Support incident investigation and root cause analysis initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving maritime regulations and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class 1 Master Mariner Certificate of Competency.
  • Minimum 7 years of maritime operational experience, with at least 3 years in training or compliance roles.
  • Proven recent seafaring and shore-based experience on oil tankers is mandatory.
  • Previous experience as a Superintendent in a ship management company.
  • ISM/ISO Auditor certification and Train-the-Trainer certification 
  • Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, MLC 2006).
  • Proficient in incident investigation practices (DNV M-SCATT preferred).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as required.
  • Fluent in English and computer literate.
