Lloyd’s Register is recruiting an experienced Marine Surveyor to provide In-Service Classification Surveys to commercial vessels along the Bristol Channel.

As an experienced Marine Surveyor, you will be required to visit in-service vessels & marine equipment to assess their compliance to LR’s classification rules and regulations.  

In brief:-

  • Act as a professional specialist for LR in applying related rules, regulations, requirements, concepts, principles and processes.

  • Perform routine surveys on classed vessels, platforms or other marine structures and at manufacturers for classification and compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Prepare technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys performed.

  • Engage in contact with clients to resolve problems within area of expertise.

  • Maintain survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified, or similar i.e. Chief Engineer

  • Thorough understanding of class rules

  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
