We are looking for a motivated Maritime SME to join their growing London office. This would be ideal next step for someone who has worked at sea, with a strong technical/operations background, looking to grow into a software driven role
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor AI model performance, accuracy, and behaviour in production environments.
- Conduct structured audits of AI outputs to identify anomalies, recurring errors, and potential bias.
- Track and report key metrics related to model reliability, compliance, and alignment with marine standards.
- Document findings and contribute to governance and assurance reporting for senior stakeholders
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of AI governance frameworks for new and existing models.
- Ensure governance approaches address risk management, transparency, and defensibility of AI decision‑making.
- Contribute to validation datasets and test scenarios that reflect real‑world marine operations and edge
- Participate in structured testing of AI models before deployment and following updates.
- Identify recurring issues, edge cases, or bias and escalate them to AI and data teams in a structured manner.
- Collaborate on improving monitoring tools, dashboards, and governance workflows.
- Support internal training and awareness initiatives related to AI governance and responsible AI
- Extensive experience in maritime assurance, vessel operations, safety, or incident investigation.
- Strong understanding of global maritime standards, PSC regimes, and inspection frameworks (SIRE, RISQ desirable).
- Highly analytical and detail‑oriented, with a strong quality and governance mindset.
- Comfortable challenging AI outputs, investigating inconsistencies, and evidencing concerns.
- Able to clearly communicate marine concepts to non‑marine and technical stakeholders.
