The Role:
- Ensure servicing, inspection, and certification of Life Saving & Fire Fighting Equipment (LSA/FFA).
- Maintain vessel navigational safety, bridge procedures, and chart corrections.
- Oversee mooring, towing, cargo gear, and gas instrument condition.
- Assess cargo loading/discharge plans for compliance.
- Conduct interviews, evaluations, and training for Masters and Senior Deck Officers.
- Support crew selection and compliance with ISM, ISO, SOLAS, and MARPOL regulations.
- Conduct internal audits and participate in safety and quality meetings.
- Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
- Maintain key relationships with regulatory bodies and suppliers.
- Develop career progression paths and optimize human resource allocation.
- Master Mariner or Chief Officer with strong ISM, ISO, and maritime regulation knowledge.
- Shore experience as a marine superintendent mandatory.
- Towage & tugboat experience.
- Experience in crew management, audits, and technical assessments.
- Leadership and mentoring skills with a proactive problem-solving approach.
