I am seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join a respected marine technical organisation in a shore-based engineering role. This position suits a Chief Engineer transitioning ashore or an experienced Second Engineer with relevant superintendent or technical background. Depending on experience, the role may also be offered at a more senior level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality marine engineering services across a range of technical assignments
  • Lead or support projects, ensuring accurate, timely, and professional outputs
  • Prepare clear technical reports and documentation
  • Engage directly with clients and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Support business development by converting enquiries into instructions
  • Participate in peer review to ensure consistency and quality of work
  • Ensure all work complies with internal quality and governance processes
  • Provide expert technical opinion, including giving evidence in court when required
Requirements
  • Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (Unlimited)
  • Chief Engineer sea-going experience preferred
    • Alternatively: Second Engineer with superintendent or shore-based technical experience
  • Vessel type experience considered case-by-case
  • Experience with gas, electronic injection engines, technical superintendent roles, or ex-class backgrounds advantageous
