We are supporting a confidential search for a Managing Director / General Manager to lead the Qatar operation of an international technical services group.
This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for commercial growth, client relationships, operational performance, team leadership, and P&L delivery.
While the local team is lean, the business is an established part of a wider international organisation and is not a start-up or standalone venture.
The company provides specialist repair, maintenance, engineering, and technical support services to clients across the marine, energy, and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for building on the company’s existing presence in Qatar, expanding customer relationships, and driving the next phase of growth.

This role is best suited to a commercially driven leader with strong local market access and the ability to grow a Qatar business. Sector experience is important, but this is not a purely technical or engineering leadership role.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Qatar business and deliver its growth strategy in line with group objectives
- Drive business development across marine, energy, offshore, industrial, and related service markets
- Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders in Qatar
- Act as the senior in-country representative of the business
- Oversee operational performance, ensuring safe and high-quality service delivery
- Lead and develop the local team
- Take full responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting
- Proven leadership experience in country management, general management, business unit leadership, or commercial leadership
- Strong track record in business development, revenue growth, and service-led client relationships
- Existing network across the Qatar marine, energy, offshore, industrial, or EPC ecosystem
- Experience leading a lean local operation within a larger international business
- Strong operational judgement and credibility in technical or service-led environments
- Proven P&L responsibility
- Fluent English required; Arabic would be beneficial
