The Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Managing Director to lead a growing maritime technology organisation. This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and driving the company through a critical integration phase. The MD will ensure continuity, align organisational culture, and lay the foundation for sustainable growth, innovation, and global market expansion. The position reports directly to a board representing the company’s shareholders and carries authority within agreed budgets and governance structures.
Responsibilities
Integration & Operational Continuity
- Lead and implement a comprehensive merger plan, unifying structures, processes, and technologies.
- Retain key personnel and institutional knowledge to ensure stability during transition.
- Oversee the integration of legacy systems, ensuring minimal disruption to vessel operations.
- Establish KPIs to monitor performance, including uptime, incident response, crew satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the integration process.
- Define and communicate the organization’s long-term vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
- Cultivate a high-performance, collaborative culture across offices and teams.
- Represent the company externally to clients, regulators, partners, and shareholders.
- Drive the evolution and deployment of core infrastructure solutions for modern and legacy vessels.
- Standardize service offerings to simplify delivery, phase out redundant solutions, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Promote automation and digital transformation across operations.

- Identify and pursue new markets, partnerships, and business opportunities.
- Develop scalable models for future mergers, acquisitions, and global deployment.

Requirements
- Extensive experience in maritime operations, vessel IT, or digital transformation.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership, including executive-level experience in maritime, technology, or shipping sectors.
- Proven success in leading organisational integrations, cultural transformations, and large-scale change initiatives.
- Proficiency in digital technologies, automation, and operational performance metrics.
- Strong international business acumen and experience at senior management level.
- Strategic vision, results-oriented mindset, and ability to align business strategies with operational goals.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Maritime Studies, IT, or related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
