The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of health, safety, and environmental performance across all LNG shipping operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures for LNG shipping operations in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the HSE team and ensure all HSE-related activities are properly executed.
- Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections onboard LNG carriers and at shore-based facilities.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts associated with LNG shipping operations.
- Investigate HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and update HSE documentation, including risk assessments, emergency response plans, and safety management systems.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulations.
- Manage HSE-related training and development programs for LNG shipping personnel.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the LNG industry, including sailing as a senior deck officer on LNG vessels.
- Knowledge of HSE management systems and ISO/ISM accreditation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
