Our client, a thriving maritime company actively growing and acquiring vessels, plans to double its fleet size over the next year by adding 2 new vessels each quarter. To support this exciting growth, we are seeking talented and experienced individuals to join their team as a Junior Superintendent based in Hamburg, Germany.
 

Key Responsibilities:
As a Junior Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in the management and oversight of their expanding fleet, working closely with the Senior Technical Superintendent. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Vessel Maintenance: Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities for assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Utilize your sailing experience as a 3rd, 2nd, or Chief Engineer to troubleshoot technical problems and provide timely and effective solutions, minimizing downtime and optimizing vessel performance.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work in collaboration with on-board crews, shore-based teams, and external partners to ensure seamless communication and coordination of vessel operations. Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of vessel maintenance budgets. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and contribute to the overall financial efficiency of the fleet.

Qualifications:
  • Sailing experience as a 3rd, 2nd, or Chief Engineer on ocean-going vessels.
  • Shore-based experience, including roles as an assistant superintendent, shipyard professional, or service engineer.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
