Faststream are working with a leading Port Management Company who are looking to recruit a Group Hydrographic and Dredging Surveyor to work on a permanent basis in the North West.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that is fully committed to investment in technology and new methods including the use of autonomous drones for the surveying process.
The successful candidate will undertake and assist in delivery of Hydrographic surveys and dredging operations throughout all my clients Statutory Harbour Authorities.
As Group Hydrographic and Dredging Surveyor you will have responsibilities with the aim of discharging the individual port authority’s duty to ensure safety of navigation and to facilitate the safe use of the harbours by all users, this includes where appropriate, the hydrographic surveying and dredging.
• Undertake Hydrographic and Dredging Operational delivery and embed consistent approaches across the Group and support all requirements as directed by the DGHM (Hydro and Dredging).
• Processing of data from a range of internal and external sources, liaising directly with 3rd parties and internal sources to rectify issues.
• Undertake the delivery of Hydrographic and Dredging Operational objectives and KPIs in line with my client's strategy and customer service requirements.
• Undertake all new and existing activities in compliance with agreed quality standards.
• Undertake continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall and day-to-day productivity and profitability through operational improvements.
• Develop effective relationships with a range of stakeholders including other Senior Managers, employees, contractors, customers.
• Proactively support change and championing new approaches.
• Exceed customer expectations through operational change and thus actively promote the Peel Ports Group performance rankings.
Essential qualifications / experience:
• Hydrography Degree or equivalent qualification
• UK Drivers Licence
Desired qualifications / experience:
• ENG1/MCA ML5 certificate
• Shallow bathymetry work
• Willingness to undertake training to operate USV
