Our client, a renowned shipping company with a reputation for excellence in vessel maintenance and operations, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to oversee their dry-docking and repair projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality repairs for their fleet.
As Estimator, you will coordinate with teams to develop precise repair plans, negotiate bills with shipyards and suppliers for cost efficiency, manage contracts to ensure quality materials and services, oversee the allocation of dock space and monitor repair progress, track and control expenses to stay within budget constraints, handle payments to contractors in a timely manner, analyze quotes from various shipyards to choose the most favorable terms, provide detailed financial reports weekly to keep stakeholders informed, and contribute to special projects as needed.
Key Requirements:
- Experienced shipyard or maritime industry Estimator.
- Comprehensive understanding of ship repair and dry-docking processes, preferably with large seagoing ships, eg. tankers vessels, container ships or bulk carriers, etc.
- Proficient in cost estimation, budgeting, and negotiation.
- Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and collaboration abilities, with expertise in relevant software for project management and cost estimation.
- Presently based in Singapore.
