We are seeking an experienced and driven ESG Manager to lead and implement environmental, social, and governance initiatives across multiple shipyard locations, with a core focus on green recycling operations. This role is critical in aligning operational practices with international sustainability standards while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting responsible recycling across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the ESG strategy and execution across all yard sites, ensuring alignment with international standards such as HKC, ISO 14001, and regional environmental regulations.
- Oversee shipyard recycling activities, including green ship dismantling, hazardous waste handling, and material segregation to minimize environmental impact.
- Develop and enforce yard-wide policies on sustainable materials, emissions reduction, and circular economy practices.
- Collaborate with yard operations, HSE, and compliance teams to embed ESG practices into daily operations and projects.
- Conduct internal audits and ensure accurate ESG and environmental reporting.
- Engage with external certification bodies, regulators, and key stakeholders to support green yard initiatives and maintain compliance.
- Monitor ESG KPIs and sustainability metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership.
- Stay updated on ESG trends, environmental regulations, and recycling best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Sustainability, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 6–10 years of relevant experience, preferably within shipyard, marine, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks (GRI, SASB) and environmental regulations (MARPOL, IMO, HKC).
- Proven experience managing ship recycling, environmental compliance, or waste management programs in a yard environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Willing to be based in Batam and travel to regional yards when required.
