About the Role:


We are in search of a Marine Electronic Field Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of Navigation, Communication, and Safety equipment on board vessels, both regionally and internationally. Your duties will encompass servicing various equipment such as GMDSS systems, VDR, ECDIS, radios, autopilot, and satellite communication systems. Additionally, you will perform radio inspections, and software updates, and create detailed service reports upon completion of assignments.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you must hold a University degree in electrical engineering or possess equivalent technical certificates, along with experience of working with Navigation and Communication equipment. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential. You should demonstrate a strong understanding of electronics theory and application, coupled with a willingness to travel frequently, including to remote locations when necessary. Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing situations are crucial, along with the ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals. Possession of a GMDSS General Operator license is considered advantageous.

This role will require frequent travel and adaptability, for this they will reward the successful candidate with a very competitive starting salary plus overtime options and car or car allowance. The base location for this role will be Hamberg, Germany and will require the successful candidate to have the right to live and work in Germany.
