Faststream are currently recruiting for an Electrical Plan Approval Engineer to be based within the client's Copenhagen office.

They are respected globally for the review of design, construction and operations of ships and offshore assets helping to ensure a safer, sustainable, and more digitialised future.  To support their unprecedented growth, they are now recruiting for an Electrical Plan Approval Engineer to join their team in Copenhagen.

As an Electrical Plan Approval Engineer, you will work on a wide range of projects; no two days will be the same. You will advise our customers on their challenges, and review and validate electrical installations or equipment drawings. You will be working with the region’s major shipping companies across a variety of sectors. Projects could include the approval of an innovative design on a new crew transfer vessel, a retrofit of green technology onto a cargo vessel or the repair of systems on a work boat.

Duties:
  • Review and validate design drawings of electrical and automation installations on ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, against Class Rules and Regulations
  • Answer questions from clients and other internal stakeholders on regulatory technical issues.
  • Build competency in advanced automation systems, including autonomous ship technology and cyber security.
  • Continuously develop your technical knowledge, professional skills, and qualification level.
    
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
  • 5 years post-qualification experience in a relevant role. Preferred: experience within maritime/offshore/renewables.
  • Experience working on autonomous vessels would be highly desirable.
  • You MUST be an EU citizen.
  • Written & spoken English.
