The Role - (Hybrid Working)
We are seeking a Electrical Lead with expertise in power and transmission systems to join our offshore renewables consultancy division. As a leader in this role, you will be responsible for expanding our capabilities in the field of offshore wind development projects. You must have extensive knowledge and experience in this area and be a self-starter who can tackle novel problems and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership of power and transmission services for the offshore wind sector
- Tender and lead scopes of work within the electrical discipline for offshore wind and renewable projects
- Ensure safe and successful delivery of discipline-related activities against project objectives
- Serve as the technical focal point for internal and external stakeholders, providing input, guidance, support, and updates
- Contribute to and deliver against the engineering budget in line with project objectives, including technical input to procurement
- Project manage consultancy and design assignments as required, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver offshore wind projects
- Support business development by building a network of contacts in the sector, engaging with clients and other stakeholders involved in the lifecycle of an offshore wind asset
- Chartered in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in technically leading power and transmission projects for offshore wind and renewable sector
- Broad knowledge and understanding of the offshore renewables sector in the UK and abroad
- Awareness of systems, processes, and standards associated with the delivery of offshore wind project developments
- Experience across the whole of the front-end engineering process
- Good project delivery skills, with a proactive approach to leading and communicating on projects
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Project management and renewable energy qualifications
- Offshore Substation Platform experience
- Direct experience of managing engineering design teams for offshore works
- Experience of managing remote teams, working as part of multi-company partnerships, and managing supply chains
