Opportunity for a Dynamic Positioning Operator, to work as an instructor joining an international award-winning training centre. 


The role

The Dynamic Positioning Instructor role will have a particular focus on Crew Resource Management, current and emerging technologies, and procedures achieved by training and simulations. In order to achieve and maintain the agreed maritime standards, the role of the Dynamic Positioning Instructor is to expand their skill set to suit the training needs of the organisation. This role focuses on training provided to cruise ship officers.


  
Responsibilities

  • Delivering training to ship-board Nautical/Deck staff
  • Delivers the course according to the course delivery process
  • Developing courses/new procedures to be implemented on board ships
  • Keeping up to date with current practices and technology
  • Participating in Simulation Studies 
  • Driving innovative approach in the use of DP for cruise ship operation
  • Keeping up to date with current practices and technology
  • Experience as an Operator with Dynamic Positioning systems
  • A current DP certificate is not required
  • Deck officer certification is an advantage (not limited to its’ validity)
  • Experience in teaching/instructing, especially in a simulated environment, would be an asset
  • Must have Cruise ship experience to be considered for the role.
