We are partnering with a leading international shipping services group to recruit a Dry Bulk Shipbroker for the launch of a new regional office in Chile. This is a hands-on commercial role at the centre of the company’s South American growth strategy, offering autonomy, market exposure, and the opportunity to shape the success of a new presence in Santiago, a key regional hub supported by a collaborative global network, modern infrastructure, and a culture that values excellence, innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage relationships with shipowners, operators, traders, and cargo clients
  • Identify and secure chartering opportunities for dry bulk commodities.
  • Match cargoes with vessels and negotiate competitive chartering terms.
  • Handle the full fixture process from enquiry to finalisation
  • Monitor freight markets, vessel positions, commodity flows, and regional trade dynamics.
  • Provide clients with market insights, updates, and competitive intelligence.
  • Support the commercial strategy and growth of the new Chile office.
  • Collaborate closely with international colleagues across operations, finance, and research.
  • Maintain accurate records of negotiations, fixtures, and client activity.
  • Contribute to business development and revenue growth by expanding the client portfolio.
  • Represent the company at meetings, calls, and industry events.
  • Prepare timely reports for management and take on additional tasks as the office scales.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in dry bulk shipbroking or dry cargo chartering
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities
  • Understanding of global dry bulk markets, trade routes, and freight dynamics
  • Existing network within shipping, trading, or commodities is advantageous
  • Commercially driven, proactive, and comfortable working independently
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish required
  • Familiarity with chartering software and market data platforms.
  • Degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, or related field preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and work flexible hours in line with global markets.
