Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise docking and undocking of vessels, ensuring safe, efficient operations.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure the health and safety of personnel.
- Prepare and analyse docking proposals, liaising with clients to meet technical requirements.
- Oversee maintenance and inspections of dry docks, equipment, and facilities.
- Monitor tides, weather, and water levels to plan safe operations.
- Lead and manage a team of dockworkers, assigning tasks and conducting performance evaluations.
- Act as the main point of contact for vessel captains, port authorities, and shipyard teams.
- Respond to emergencies such as flooding, equipment failure, or accidents.
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and ensure proper documentation of operations.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marine operations, with at least 2 in a supervisory role in ship repair or construction.
- Strong background in marine engineering or naval architecture (preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of docking procedures for large vessels and dry dock operations.
- Familiarity with maritime safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using shipyard management software, Excel, and AutoCAD.
- Physically fit and capable of working in varying conditions, including dock bottoms and heights.
- Fluent English required; Spanish fluency desirable.
