Location: London
Focus: Personal Injury Claims
The Client
A well established name in the cruise industry is looking to appoint a Claims Manager to join their legal and insurance function in London. The team handles a broad mix of shipping and personal injury claims, with a focus on high standards, autonomy, and cross functional collaboration.
The Role
You’ll be leading on a range of claims, from complex personal injury cases to Admiralty matters with limited supervision. You’ll engage with external lawyers, ship command, P&I clubs, and various internal departments, providing both hands on case handling and strategic input.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing Admiralty claims independently
- Handling complex personal injury claims (crew)
- Coordinating with lawyers, insurers, P&I correspondents, agents, and shipboard teams
- Applying knowledge of CBAs, crew contracts, ITF agreements, PEME, and SOLAS regulations
- Producing trend analysis, statistics, and budget forecasts related to ongoing claims
You have solid experience in both personal injury and marine claims, ideally with some exposure to the cruise sector. You’re confident handling files with minimal oversight and are comfortable navigating the legal and operational complexities of the shipping world.
You’re familiar with crew related legislation and contractual frameworks, and can work across legal, medical, and shipboard departments. English is your primary working language, and if you speak a second language, that’s a welcome bonus. You’re open to occasional travel, and importantly, you’re already eligible to work in the UK.
