Are you an experienced Commercial Maritime professional with an interested in joining a company that operates in high-risk or complex international markets?

Faststream are working with a leading international risk management and security organisation, delivering solutions to clients operating in challenging and high-risk environments worldwide. We are looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to join this growing team, you will work closely with the Commercial Director and Marketing team to generate and nurture high-quality leads, turning prospects into long-term customers.

This role will focus on leading their growth strategy, expand market presence, and drive high-value client acquisition. This role is strategic, relationship-driven, and highly visible across the organisation. You will own revenue generation targets, oversee pipeline development, target inbound leads and related campaigns.
  
This is a fully remote role (working GMT time zone hours), with periodic travel required for visits to head office, client meetings, and relevant industry events.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and engage potential clients aligned with the company’s growth strategy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting to proposal, negotiation, and closing
  • Collaborate with Marketing to target prospects through campaigns, inbound leads, and marketing initiatives
  • Qualify leads, maintain CRM records, and report on pipeline and revenue forecasts
  • Develop tailored proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations to meet client needs
  • Coordinate trials, software demos, or service evaluations with prospective clients
  • Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, understanding their challenges and presenting appropriate solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and team collaboration
  • Achieve measurable sales targets and KPIs while maintaining high-quality client engagement
  
Requirements
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client management roles
  • Demonstrated success in achieving targets and managing a pipeline of high-value clients
  • Skilled at engaging with senior stakeholders (C-suite and other decision-makers)
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales/marketing tools
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple prospects and priorities simultaneously
  • Experience in security, risk management, or international markets is advantageous but not essential, maritime background preferred
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify business opportunities
