An opportunity for an Assistant Engineer to join an experienced engine crew onboard tugs/barges on the Great Lakes. 

This is an excellent role for someone looking to start their career underway or gain more sea time as an Assistant Engineer and offers a good potential for future promotion.

Rotation is 28/28 or 28/14 days on/off depending upon your preference with travel reimbursement. 

Responsibilities include:

The Assistant Engineer performs in a professional manner all aspects of vessel maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer. Performs engine room watch including performing scheduled rounds and associated log keeping.

Maintaining and operating vessel propulsion systems and regulating power transmission to control the speed of the vessel

Responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all vessel machinery on the watch, as directed by the Chief Engineer

You will require:
• A U.S. Coast Guard License
• A 3rd Assistant Engineer, DDE license or equivalent.
• A current TWIC
• A current Passport
