We are delighted to have been invited to participate in the Solent Maritime Conference 2023. A unique event designed for aspiring maritime students, to enhance their career journeys.
We will be joining Solent University to offer our expertise and rich industry knowledge to their current maritime students.
On Tuesday the 21st of February at 3:00 pm Michael Darby, Team Leader of Faststream’s Commercial Shipping Division will be delivering a talk on Careers in Maritime. So, if you are considering what your career could look like after your studies, be sure to attend. The following day, on Wednesday the 22nd of February we will be attending the career networking event from 1:00 pm to 3.30 pm hosted by Solent University in the Silver Birch Suite.
The event is designed to connect the students with potential maritime employers, so that they can build their connections. Whilst also getting a true insight into the global maritime industry.

Solent University, is a leading maritime education and training provider, based in the centre of the global maritime hub of Southampton, UK (also the home of the Faststream Recruitment UK Head Office).
What can you expect?
Over 120 maritime students, across undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be in attendance to learn about the prosperous career opportunities on offer across the wider maritime industry. Many of the students will be keen to embark on their individual career journeys later this year, so we cannot wait to talk to them about how they can best enter the industry as new talent.
Career Presentation
Our maritime recruitment team will be delivering an in-depth presentation to the students. This will focus solely on maritime careers after education. Michael Darby, Team Leader of Commercial Shipping at Faststream will be leading the presentation, sharing his invaluable maritime and recruitment knowledge.
The presentation will take place at 3:00 pm in the Silver Birch Suite at Solent University. If you are currently a student at Solent University or representing your business at the conference, we would love to see you there.

Michael is a Team Leader of Commercial Shipping at Faststream Recruitment covering our Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Americas operations. Michael specialises in recruiting across the commercial broking sector for key global clients.
He joined the Faststream Recruitment business in 2013 gaining vast experience across the Shipping departments.
