Chartering Workshop (in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers):

This full-day workshop is designed for intermediate-level participants and offers a deeper understanding of chartering principles and their applications. It caters to both full-time chartering professionals and individuals who work with chartering contracts. Lecturer Philip Bacon will provide instruction designed to increase proficiency in key areas, such as:

  • Major cargoes and trade routes

  • Chartering terminology

  • Shipping and market sector definitions

  • Identifying key stakeholders in a chartering contract

  • The Profit and Loss levers and rationale of breakbulk cargoes

  • Shipbroker authority - advantages and limitations

  • Calculating demurrage and despatch across sectors

  • Bills of Lading: functions and correct usage; pitfalls and risks associated with incorrect usage

Women in Breakbulk:

The Europe Edition will be held during Breakbulk Europe on Tuesday afternoon on the 21st of May. In the predominantly male-dominated maritime, project cargo, and breakbulk industry, women are steadily making their mark. To foster greater inclusion, Breakbulk Europe brings together women from diverse sectors. They share their valuable perspectives, offering insightful tips and advice on how women across all fields can ascend the ranks and reshape the narrative in an industry that’s moving in the right direction.

Breakbulk Europe 2024 - BUSINESSrun
BUSINESSrun:

Breakbulk Europe and their sponsors United Heavy Lift and Port of Rotterdam, ITJ International Transport Journal and MARPRO invite like-minded professionals to participate in the 60th BUSINESSrun. This run will take place on Wednesday the 22nd of May at 7:30 am in Central Rotterdam (TBD). The fee to take part is €50 which is donated entirely to the charity organisation, Mission to Seafarers.
