We are partnering with a well-established US-based tanker owner/operator to recruit an experienced Vessel Operator to join their dynamic commercial team in Fairfield, CT. This is a high-impact role offering exposure to both operational and chartering functions within the chemical tanker market.

Key Responsibilities Operational Management
- Prepare voyage orders, sailing instructions, and ensure smooth execution of voyages
- Negotiate and manage contracts for tugs, agents, bunkers, and slop vendors
- Maintain and update the Voyage Management System
- Coordinate voyage operations and communications with charterers
- Monitor and improve financial performance of voyages
- Approve voyage-related invoices and support technical operations (tank cleaning, wall washes)
- Collaborate with charterers to plan optimal voyage routes
- Assist in preparing proposals and quotations for business development
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Monitor market conditions and support chartering strategy
- Identify and mitigate risks related to vessel quality, insurance, and geopolitical factors
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transportation, Marine Engineering, Logistics, or equivalent experience
- Experience in chemical tanker operations, including team leadership
- Strong understanding of Charter Party terms and operational logistics
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Fluent in English and comfortable working independently and collaboratively
