Job Purpose: As a Technical Superintendent (Marine), you will provide shore-based technical support to vessels under your responsibility, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and seaworthiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage vessel operational expenses, including repairs, maintenance, and survey/certification requirements.
- Ensure vessels are fully fit and seaworthy for trading as required.
- Ensure vessels comply with all class, statutory requirements, and regulations, including trading certificates.
- Ensure compliance with charterer/client requirements.
- Develop yearly budget requirements for vessels, seek approvals, and manage revisions.
- Monitor and manage vessel Planned Maintenance in collaboration with Chief Engineers and Chief Officers.
- Oversee ship repair, refitting, docking, and surveys, liaising with technical service providers.
- Plan and coordinate classification and statutory surveys/audits of vessels.
- Analyze technical matters and provide feedback for improvement.
- Coordinate and monitor vessel performance and activities impacting operations.
- Conduct onboard technical reviews/vessel inspections at least once every 6 months, providing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the marine-related industry with exposure to technical superintendent tasks.
- Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
- Preferably with experience in the Offshore Support Vessel Industry.
- Willingness to travel and visit ships in the Southeast Asia (SEA) Region.
- Ability to converse in Bahasa-Malay is advantageous for communication with Indonesian Crew.
