We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical and operational performance of our fleet. This role is critical to ensuring our vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with international standards.
Role Overview As Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of vessel maintenance, certification, and operational readiness. You will work closely with onboard teams, shipyards, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to uphold the highest standards of safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support vessel command teams in all technical matters.
- Ensure timely renewal and compliance of statutory and class certificates.
- Coordinate dry docking, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Administer and audit ISM systems and onboard procedures.
- Monitor and manage budgets for maintenance, stores, and consumables.
- Liaise with port authorities, service engineers, and suppliers.
- Conduct periodic vessel visits to oversee condition and performance.
- Maintain inventory of critical spares and defect reports.
- Drive continuous improvement in technical processes and systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
- Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (Class I – Motor).
- Minimum 1 year as a Technical Superintendent.
- At least 2 years as Chief Engineer on geared bulk carriers.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, cargo crane operations, and hatch cover maintenance.
