Primary responsibilities
- Provide relevant skills, integrity and knowledge in subsea spool engineering including design codes, legislative requirements, client specifications, and industry engineering practice
- Carry out design analysis for subsea spools using available tools and software such as CAESAR II and in-house calculation sheets (Mathcad, Excel)
- Operate within Company standardised engineering processes and systems
- Take responsibility for production of high quality deliverables including preparation of Stress Analysis Design Reports, Material Take-off’s, design calculations and the checking of General Arrangement and Isometric drawings
- Provide engineering support to Tendering teams, Project teams, Field Development Group and other stakeholders
- Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legislation requirements are observed
- Manage all external (clients, subcontractors) and internal interfaces
- Provide spool engineering support for the execution of multi-discipline projects in line with defined resource, budget and schedule constraints
Experience required
- Educated to degree level or above in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) or working towards this
- In-depth knowledge of subsea spool design engineering, including design codes (specifically PD 8010-2 and DNV-ST-F101), standards and applicable software tools
- Experienced in spool FEA based design using CAESAR II or similar software (experience with ABAQUS and basic PYTHON scripting also preferable but not essential)
