SHEQ Officer

About the Role As a SHEQ Officer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining a robust safety culture within the organisation. You will proactively support and advise teams on all aspects of safety awareness, health, environmental protection, and quality management.
This position requires a collaborative and hands-on professional who can engage with seagoing and shore-based personnel, conduct audits and assessments, deliver training, and ensure compliance with both internal standards and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct vessel visits and onboard audits to ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and procedures.
- Carry out safety culture assessments across the organisation and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Provide expert advice and support to officers and crew on safety-related matters.
- Investigate incidents, prepare detailed reports, and share lessons learned.
- Review and provide feedback on near-miss reports and risk assessments.
- Deliver safety, environmental, and quality training sessions for vessel and office personnel.
- Implement new and upcoming maritime safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform shipyard audits and evaluations to ensure adherence to standards.
- Contribute to risk and security assessments related to fleet operations.
- Support the development and implementation of digital training platforms for both seagoing and office staff.

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated affinity with safety culture development and implementation.
- Strong communication, coaching, and training delivery skills.
- Willingness to travel and spend approximately 30–40 days per year onboard vessels.
