Job Description

Faststream are working with a major EPC to add a Senior Mechanical Engineer to their team. This is a hybrid working role based out of London. The client has both staff and 12-month PAYE contract positions available. 

Responsibilities:
  • Design, review and approve mechanical engineering deliverables such as specifications, calculations, data sheets, and drawings for oil and gas EPC projects.
  • Work with the project team to ensure that all mechanical engineering activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to other members of the project team including junior engineers and drafters.
  • Conduct reviews and assessments of vendor and subcontractor proposals for mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients and vendors, and provide recommendations on mechanical design solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations, including API, ASME, and ISO.
  • Provide input to project planning and scheduling to ensure that mechanical engineering deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with mechanical design and implementation during all project phases.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experienced in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems used in the oil and gas industry, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including API, ASME, and ISO.
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or ANSYS.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring junior engineers and drafters.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workloads to meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or client meetings.
