Faststream Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a major international Energy business, to work on a billion-dollar, international, large chemicals processing facility project. The project will contribute towards European energy transition targets through the delivery of sustainable battery materials for transportation.
  
The Senior Mechanical Engineer shall be responsible for implementing document control procedures and processes in accordance with the approved project procedures and in accordance with company systems, work processes and EMS procedures.
  
The successful candidate will be:
  • Delivering Mechanical engineering services that meet the clients and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget
  • Writing mechanical specifications and mechanical data sheets
  • Writing technical content documents to support Enquiry Requisitions
  • Reviewing supplier bid documents
  • Compiling Technical Bid Evaluations to capture technical bid clarification responses 
  • Undertaking Bid Clarification Meetings
  • Acting as a single focal point for supplier document review and approval for several equipment packages
  • Monitoring assigned packages for technical compliance, contractual compliance and QA/QC compliance
  • Considering environmental, commercial, safety and operational aspects of design
  • Responsible for review and integration of company and client specifications and standards into the equipment design and quality standards
  • Liaising with multi-discipline project teams, project/engineering management and Client representatives for project activities as required
  • Reporting of issues related to management of change
  • Able to think creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems
  • Identification of risks in the workplace, on site and in the project work undertaken

This is an exciting 12 month + contract working on a major new green energy project. The role is on a PAYE basis and the client will provide the necessary equipment to do the work. The client is happy for a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days in the office and 3 from home. They are also happy for you to work out of any of their 3 UK office locations in West London, Manchester or Stockton.
