Job Description:
As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a pivotal role in our supply chain and procurement processes. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring various goods and services necessary to keep their maritime operations running smoothly. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Vendor Management: Identify and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors, negotiating terms and agreements to secure the best pricing and quality for goods and services.
- Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring timely restocking and eliminating overstock or stockouts to meet operational demands.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all materials and services meet our quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Contract Management: Administer and manage procurement contracts, ensuring all parties fulfill their obligations and resolving any disputes that may arise.
- Budgeting: Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets, tracking expenses, and making recommendations for cost reduction.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procurement activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role within the maritime or logistics industry.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
