This is your opportunity to join Silverstream Technologies, a market leading clean technology company standing at the forefront of ship efficiency solutions and maritime decarbonisation. Silverstream are dedicated to delivering cutting-edge technology to reduce fuel burn and harmful emissions from oceangoing vessels.  As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Product Safety Engineer to contribute to their success.

Reporting To: The Chief Engineer

Location: London / Southampton office including Hybrid Working.

The primary functions of the role will be a) to develop and manage the Silverstream Technologies Product Safety Case and coordinate all associated Product Safety inputs into it, and b) to sanction product safety deviations and oversee subsequent countermeasures.

Experience / Qualifications Required:
  • STEM degree with Product Safety experience within a regulated industry
  • Chartered Engineering Status is desirable although not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of safety analysis / case techniques such as:
    • o Hazard Identification (HAZID)
    • o Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP)
    • o Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • o Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
    • o Claims, Argument and Evidence (CAE) Safety Case
  • Good working knowledge of the requirements of IEC 61508 and/or IEC 61511
  • Knowledge of Safety standards within the commercial marine industry.
  • Knowledge of Safety standards and practices outside of the commercial marine domain such as Naval, Civil Aerospace, Rail, Oil & Gas or other Process Industries.
