Job Description

Faststream are working with a major EPC to add a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to their team on a hybrid basis out of their Manchester office.

As a member of the Civil, Structural, Architectural, and Weight Control Department, you will be involved in delivering concept, FEED, and detailed design services for a range of onshore and offshore projects in the mining, chemical, and energy sectors.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring the technical quality of work meets the required standards.
  • Identifying any necessary changes to project scope or schedule in accordance with the Change Control Process.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant procedures and regulations.
  • Keeping up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards, and legislative requirements related to your work.
  • Ensuring assigned work is carried out within agreed budget and schedule.
  • Preparing estimates and schedules and reviewing them as necessary.
  • Maintaining good communication with clients and visiting sites as required.
  • Facilitating discussions within the engineering and design team, providing technical guidance, support, and training when needed.
  • Ensuring all discipline personnel are working in alignment and following best practices.
  • Signing and checking drawings and documents in accordance with correct procedures.
  • Encouraging lateral learning within the project.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to Worley values and promoting health, safety, environmental, quality, and ethical standards.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject.
  • The ability to lead large complex project work-scopes from multiple execution centers.
  • Engineering experience with a strong technical background and expertise.
  • Competency in using analytical methods within your discipline, including theoretical background for analysis programs.
  • Familiarity with planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Awareness of commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of engineering.
  • The ability to estimate work-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
  • The ability to work with other disciplines and draughting sections to meet delivery dates.
