The Key Account Manager is a member of the global Sales Team and is responsible for building and upselling new solutions to existing customers as well as nurturing existing accounts.

  • Frequent communication with the customer, building and maintaining the knowledge of the customers' needs and requirements, driving smarter set-up between the customers' voyage management system and the various group products
  • Help customers with the digital transformation journey, acting as a consultant
  • Work closely with the customer various departments, operations, finance/accounting, business process, and applications functions, legal, compliance
  • Enhance the customer relationship and commercial opportunities
  • Support upselling by capturing opportunities for our solutions and a suitable entry point
  • Acquire and maintain strong relationships with key contacts within our customers' organizations at a senior level including legal and compliance departments
  • Address and resolve customers' complaints and questions
  • Act as the main point of contact between the customers and other internal teams
  • Negotiate contracts/fees with customers
  • Attend relevant conventions/conferences as appropriate
The requirements...
  • Experience in senior shipping role, either Operations or Chartering
  • Commercial / customer-focused background
  • Experience in either the Tanker, Bulk, or Projects Operations sector
  • Good Post Graduate Degree or Master Mariner
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to handle multiple customer accounts
  • Ability to work effectively remotely, be self-driven and show initiative
  • Be based in the United States - preferably Houston but not essential
