Our client are a leader in their area, they are the forefront of decarbonizing the maritime sector, deploying a range of technologies such as clean fuels, energy-saving devices, electrification and carbon capture systems.

Due to fleet expansion, they are actively seeking a HSEQ Assitant Manager to join their team

Job Purpose:


The HSEQ Assistant Manager will assist in developing and implementing Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies for our clients business, support HSEQ training, manage incidents, and report to the HSEQ Manager on performance.

Main Duties:
  • Provide administrative support for HSEQ activities.
  • Assist in managing the ISM Safety Management System and other company systems.
  • Support ISO accreditations 9001/14001/45001/50001.
  • Update internal health & safety documentation and registers.
  • Maintain systems, libraries, and document control; manage SMS revisions and updates.
  • Administer internal HSEQ software systems.
  • Coordinate health & safety requests within the HSEQ department.
  • Handle health & safety enquiries internally and externally.
  • Produce HSEQ reports and statistics.
  • Assist with tenders and ensure correct documentation for submissions.
  • Maintain supplier documentation and HSEQ office requirements.
  • Review and improve documents, systems, and procedures.
  • Support projects related to Quality, Health, Safety, and the Environment.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Desirable: IOSH/NEBOSH qualification and knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and the ISM Code.
  • Experience in a support role within the health & safety industry.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new systems.
  • Fluent in English.
Attitude & Disposition:
  • Willingness to travel frequently for vessel visits and meetings.
  • Availability to be on call for incidents.
