As a Field Technical Support Representative, you will act as the on-site technical liaison between the our client and its customers, shipyards, and project teams. You will play a critical role in supporting installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of stabilisation systems.
The role involves extensive hands-on work, customer interaction, and coordination with cross-functional teams, particularly with the Project Management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site liaison during equipment installation and testing at shipyards
- Coordinate with shipyard teams, subcontractors, and internal project managers to ensure timely project delivery
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues with electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Prepare systems for sea trials and ensure operational readiness
- Produce accurate site visit, fault analysis, and progress reports
- Deliver customer training and support as required
- Provide cross-functional support to Project Management, Commissioning, and Warranty teams
- Must be a based in Italy and fluent in Italian (written and spoken)
- Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, including hydraulics and electronic controls
- Relevant technical qualification (degree or equivalent)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – confident dealing with clients and shipyard personnel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical reporting
- Able to read and interpret schematics, manuals and technical drawings
- Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, and soft starters is highly desirable
- Valid passport and driving licence with full mobility for international travel
